João Brandão
João Brandão (1977), professor auxiliar, leciona Design Gráfico, Design de Comunicação e Design Multimédia na Faculdade de Arquitectura UL e é sócio do B2 Atelier de Design. Licenciado pela faculdade de Belas-Artes UL. Os seus estudos foram complementados pela frequência de diversos cursos da escola Ar.Co nomeadamente, design gráfico, desenho, fotografia, workshop de tipografia, caligrafia, entre outros. É Doutorado em Design na Faculdade de Arquitectura onde desenvolveu uma investigação na área dos Motion Graphics denominada “Uma Gramática do Movimento”. Em 2012 cria a aplicação Calligraphy Practice, para iPad, e registra uma patente nos EUA para proteger a propriedade intelectual da mesma. Como designer desenvolveu livros para artistas como: Miguel Branco, Manuel Amado, Pedro Calapez, Jorge Nesbitt, Tereza Seabra e Jorge Martins. Na área dos projectos multimédia destacam-se diversos anúncios de publicidade institucional para Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian e Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, sites para a Comissão Nacional UNESCO, IPRI e site do Centro de Arte Moderna José Azeredo Perdigão. Actualmente é professor auxiliar e coordenador do Mestrado em Design de Comunicação da Faculdade de Arquitetura UL. Como membro efectivo do CIAUD e do grupo de investigação Typo.Graphicae, faz investigação nas areas da tipografia, caligrafia, design editorial e motion graphics.
